Carvery

At The Unicorn Hotel & Restaurant, we are proud to serve our traditional carvery every Sunday, which we are famous in the area for.

The meats are slowly cooked overnight, ensuring they are perfectly tender. Beef, with a hint of mustard on the exterior, pork with crispy crackling or juicy turkey, all sourced locally, will be carved for you. You may then help yourself to a wide selection of vegetables, stuffing, and our homemade Yorkshire puddings, as well as our rich gravy, made with real meat juices. You may add cranberry, horseradish or apple sauce; mustard and mint sauce are also available on request.

If there is any room left after the carvery, there are a variety of homemade desserts available. Our dessert menu will typically include various cheesecakes, bread and butter puddings and cakes, however our menu is frequently updated. There is a choice of cream, ice cream or custard, and will be served with a portion of fresh fruit. In addition, we have delicious Dairy Dreams ice cream, in a variety of flavours.

Owing to the popularity of our carvery, it is recommended to book by Thursday for the following Sunday to secure a table.

If you miss out on the carvery—don’t worry, you can try our Roast of the Day baps. Served on soft white rolls, with the meat from the carvery and roast potatoes, roast parsnips and a Yorkshire pudding with gravy. These are very filling and are a full meal, and perfect after a long day of work and are a lifesaver if you don’t fancy cooking.
