17th Century Inn
Built in the 1600s as a coaching inn, The Unicorn has roots that are centuries old.
We purchased The Unicorn in August 2017 with a view to completing a full and sensitive renovation to reopen by Easter 2018. The scale of the task at hand was such that we split it into several phases.
The first, completing the downstairs restaurant and lounge bar. The second, due to complete by the end of 2018, will see the first floor fully renovated to offer four letting rooms. The third, will see the top floor fully rebuilt and renovated facilitating a further four letting rooms, arguably returning The Unicorn to it’s former glory as a small hotel.
Reopened in 2018
After extensive renovation, new owners Phil and Katherine reopened for business in 2018.
“Our dream in acquiring The Unicorn was to own a traditional village pub and small hotel, focusing on freshly home-cooked food from local sources, while offering warmly inviting accommodation, emphasising a home-from-home atmosphere.”
